How Prafero Uses Cookies & Tracking Technologies

This Policy details how we utilize cookies, web beacons, local storage, and related systems to secure client logins, measure performance statistics, and power website audits.

Simplified Cookie Statement

We use cookies strictly to support your site monitoring dashboard and maintain account safety. We do not share your account's cookies with external marketing aggregators. This document outlines which trackers are set and how you can manage them.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small key-value text files placed on your computer or device by websites you visit. They allow web applications to identify your session, remember preference metrics, and confirm your authentication details as you navigate between pages.

Cookies can be classified as Session Cookies (which expire as soon as you close your browser) or Persistent Cookies (which remain stored on your device until they reach a specified expiration date or are manually purged).

2. Why We Use Cookies

Prafero operates as a technical website intelligence tool. We use cookies and browser storage mechanisms to support the following services:

  • Confirming valid user authentication to prevent unauthorized workspace access.
  • Executing diagnostic scan queries and maintaining background tracking of domain queues.
  • Caching configuration settings, dashboard widget states, and local preferences.
  • Preventing malicious script injections and safeguarding active web forms.

3. Cookie Categories We Use

The cookies set on our domain are structured into these standard brackets:

Essential Cookies

Operational Purpose

Required for Prafero's dashboard authentication, user session persistence, and anti-CSRF token verification.

Examples

prafero_session_token, csrf_token

Your Control

Strictly necessary; cannot be toggled off since the platform needs them to function.

Performance & Analytics

Operational Purpose

Help us measure traffic channels, user interaction with audit workspaces, and dashboard load latency.

Examples

_ga, _gid (Google Analytics), ahrefs_id

Your Control

Optional; can be blocked via your browser configuration without breaking basic platform controls.

Functionality & Preferences

Operational Purpose

Remember layout layouts, active space domains, dark mode toggles, and saved search filters.

Examples

prafero_workspace_layout, dark_mode_enabled

Your Control

Optional; disabling these resets your workspace custom settings on reload.

4. Cookies & Site Scans

As an audit platform, Prafero scans external target sites. Please note: Prafero does not inject cookies or trackers into the websites you audit.

When you submit a URL for diagnostics, our backend servers make request calls and read the target server's headers, SSL metadata, and page layouts. These scans run on our sandbox infrastructure. Our user session cookies are only used to verify that your account has permission to trigger the scan and view the dashboard results.

5. Third-Party Cookies

We keep third-party dependencies minimal to protect your data privacy. However, we employ select, trusted providers to verify site performance, process payment schedules, and analyze server logs:

  • Analytics: Google Analytics and Ahrefs script monitors help us check page performance and user workflows.
  • Integrations: Session infrastructure tools that secure database routes and monitor server uptime.

These third-party platforms apply their own cookies and policies. We suggest reading their privacy sheets for detailed options.

6. Similar Tracking Technologies

Besides traditional cookies, Prafero utilizes browser local storage modules:

  • Local Storage & Session Storage: Used to temporarily hold local workspace draft settings, reducing database calls for quick page updates.
  • Web Pixels: Used in transactional or onboarding emails to track successful registrations and deliver onboarding support.

7. Managing Your Preferences

You can block or delete cookies directly inside your browser options. The steps vary by application:

Purge Cookies

Clear cookies from history logs inside browser preferences.

Block Third-Party

Enable 'Block third-party cookies' in safety parameters.

Do-Not-Track (DNT)

Enable browser DNT flags to suppress script beacons.

Workspace Storage

Clear application cache to reset saved layout configurations.

Note: Disabling cookies entirely will log you out of Prafero and prevent you from viewing custom dashboard results.

8. Policy Updates

We may periodically update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our technology stack, regulatory standards, or auditing processes. When an update occurs, we will modify the revision date at the top of this page.
